Vacation Spot: Santorini, Greece

Feeling the winter blues? Who isn't?! With winter in full force, it is hard not to start feeling bad about your beauty routine (or lack thereof!) So in an effort to brighten my day and yours, my Vacation Spot post for the week is Santorini, Greece. Who hasn't dreamed of spending time in this beautiful, festive, country, sipping beer while gazing over the sea and those iconic blue roofs.

Fantastic, fabulous Santorini deserves all the superlatives. Even the most jaded traveller succumbs to the awesome drama of this surreal landscape. That you share the experience with hordes of other visitors is inevitable. Embrace it all. And get into the spirit with draped clothes and natural makeup.

Bridal Makeup Tips

Pinned Image

Waterproof It

Choose a mascara that's waterproof; it lasts longer and withstands tears. If you really don't like the look or feel, use one coat of regular mascara, then follow up with a light coat of waterproof mascara.

On the Line

Charcoal (green eyes), navy (brown eyes), or mahogany (blue eyes) are your best options for eyeliner. Black or brown may look too severe, especially if your wedding will be held during the daytime and/or outdoors.

Lighten Up

Use a white shadow as a highlighter on your brow bone if you have light skin; a warmer light peach or vanilla shade will suit deeper complexions.

Shade Your Brows
Define your brows with a pencil or shadow that matches your hair color or chose one shade lighter then your hair color for day weddings.

Sweet Cheeks

Don't forget your blush! A pop of color on your cheeks is like an instant facelift. For fairer skin, a pink tone will work; those with deeper skin tones can choose a
rosier hue.

Blend, Blend, Blend
Blend well all over, especially at the corners of your eyes and jawline, since cameras pick up visible makeup lines.

Brighten Up

Choose a lip color that's a bit bright. Pale nude or brown lip hues can make you appear washed out in photos, particularly since you'll be wearing white. If you normally wear a neutral hue, wear it as your base with a pink or rose color on top. If you normally wear dark lipstick, use that as your base and apply a lighter sheer pink on top to give you a lift.

Keep It With You

Even if you mix various lip colors when applying your makeup, be sure to have one great lipstick to carry with you for touchups.

Enjoy the moment!

2012 Golden Globes - The MEN!

So you think spray tanning is only for women?! Think again! Here are some of the men from the 2012 Golden Globes who bronzed their booties before they hit the red carpet. #longlivemanscaping

Ain't nothin wrong with Jonah Hill's newly slimmed down bod or his subtle tan that enhances those baby blues.

2012 Golden Globes: The good, the bad & the ugly.

Well, if you're like me your favorite part of any award show is the Red Carpet. It's a chance to see the stars as they arrive for the big night dressed in their Sunday's best.  Some play it safe while some push the proverbial limits. Either way, it's a great night to see the latest in fashion trends, make up trends, and even spray tanning trends. Here are just a few from last night:

Charlize Theron in Dior Couture looked amazing as usual. The slit in her dress, her legs and her shoes are the center of it as evidenced by the darker tan on her legs in comparison with her chest. By darkening the color it draws your eye immediately to her legs and although I like it, I hate that it takes the attention away from her face because she's so stunning. That said, she looks great and always does ("Monster" excluded).

Who doesn't love Reese Witherspoon?! She looked effortlessly gorgeous last night in this Zac Posen gown. I love her natural make up, her subtle tan & her beachy locks. Perfect! #legallybeautiful!

Jessica Alba looked awesome in Gucci. I absolutely LOVED her make up and her skin looked flawless! Gorgeous.

I love Michelle Williams but I really wasn't feeling this dress on her. She is so beautiful but this Jason Wu dress really just makes her look kind of frumpy! Disappointing.

Judging by what the critics are saying thus far, it seems like this Elie Saab gown was a miss for Jessical Biel but I love it. I'm big into lace and always have been. I love her hair and make up for the dress to. I think it all works. She looks romantic and lovely #bringingsexyback.

Heidi Klum - Golden Globes 2012 Red Carpet

I love Heidi Klum's beachy look - I can't decide what I like better; the Calvin Klein dress or the Lorraine Schwartz necklace. Either way, it's working! She gets my Seal of approval! :)

Kate Beckinsale - WOWZA! The 38-year-old British actress looked picture perfect in a Roberto Cavalli strapless pale blush chiffon and lace gown. Her smokey eye and flawless skin only add to her perfection. Stunning!

A Winter Glow

Pinned Image
As we finally head into a new year, we can almost see spring on the horizon. But just because the sun is still scarce doesn't mean you can't maintain a light, healthy-looking tan. A winter glow is even better than a summer one. You will look far better than anyone else around you in the dreary weather. And who doesn't like to stand out in a crowd?

Give us a ring at Sunfree Beauty Bar and I can help with your skin, makeup, and all things pretty this winter. Happy Friday!
